What are the typical computer updates necessary to run applications?

    Quick checklist
    - Decent browser? (chrome, firefox, IE8 or higher etc)
    - Flash installed and enabled
    - Java installed and enabled
    - Divx player (for certain movie sites)
    - Silverlight
    - Adobe air
    - Adobe acrobat

    Once you have them, for the most party you should be able to run pretty much anything. For older poorly developed sites that still use Active X, using ie and clicking yes to a ton of warnings is probs your best bet.
